Aren't there 65 teams in men's tournament this year?

Yes, but we are not counting the first game of the men's tournament. This year, just like prior years, there are 65 teams in the men's tournament. On Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 the two teams from the two lowest rated conferences in the nation will play the "Opening Round Game", with the winner playing the #1 seed of the men's tournament on Thursday, March 20th or Friday, March 21st. We will know all 65 teams on Sunday, March 16th, 2008. At this point we will put 63 teams in the 64 brackets. One spot will not be filled and we will use the term TBD (To Be Determined) to indicate the winner of the "Opening Round Game". If you think the winner of the "Opening Round Game" will beat the #1 seed on Thursday or Friday, then click on TBD for your team winner. If you think the winner of the "Opening Round Game" will lose against the #1 seed, then click on the #1 seed team name to pick the winner. As soon as we know the winner of the "Opening Round Game", we will replace TBD with the name of that team.

How do I pick the winners?

Once the participants of the men's college basketball tournament are announced, either register or login. Once logged in, you will find a link to the Pickem forms. Go through the brackets and pick the winners of all of the games, and enter a tiebreaker score. (The tiebreaker score is the total combined points of the two teams that will participate in the final game of the tournament.) To select a team as a winner all you need to do is click on that team name within the brackets. Once you have selected a winner for all of the games and entered a tiebreaker score, you must click the submit button that appears at the bottom of the Pickem forms. Double check your picks at this point. Once submitted, all picks are final.
